Bastyr University鈥檚 Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Program Receives CNME Reaccreditation

Bastyr University has received an important vote of confidence in the future of its naturopathic medicine program. The (CNME) officially lifted the Show Cause sanction and reaffirmed accreditation for the Bastyr University Doctor in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) program for three years.

The decision reflects the university鈥檚 substantial progress over the last year which includes improved financial stability and streamlined operations. 

In its findings, CNME issued a . The probationary sanction is accompanied by five recommendations and four areas of interest. Bastyr University leadership remains engaged in dialogue with CNME. 

鈥淐NME鈥檚 three-year accreditation of the Bastyr University ND program is an encouraging result,鈥 says Bastyr University Chief Administrative Officer Randy Frisch.

Over the last year Bastyr University has achieved these additional milestones:

University leadership acknowledges the challenges experienced by faculty and staff throughout the past year, including some uncertainty and increased workloads. Despite these pressures, the Bastyr community remained focused on advancing the university鈥檚 mission and supporting students through a period of transformation.

Administrative leadership also expressed gratitude to the Bastyr University Board of Trustees for its governance and direction during a pivotal period in the university鈥檚 history.

With the CNME Show Cause sanction removed and accreditation reaffirmed, Bastyr University leadership can look ahead to strengthening its position as a leader in naturopathic medical education.
